The adventurers find some creature friends in Petersberg

It was a very cold day and the snow was falling. Just as well Ruby had her scarf to keep her warm. The river was all white and icy. Ruby sees some ducks but they weren't able to swim as there was no water only ice everywhere! Ruby could see their little duck feet prints in the snow where they had been walking around looking for water to swim in.
"We may as well have a little 'duck nap' as it could be a while before there is water to swim in again"said the ducks.
The church mice will be safe today as the cathedral cat is also having a 'nap' under the chair in the church!
Ruby thinks it must be a warm place there near the heating pipes. Pussy looks so warm and comfortable. Much better in here than out side in the icy snow!
Ruby wanted to know what  those men were doing out there on the frozen river? Why would they want to be out there when its so warm inside? She took a closer look.
They were drilling holes in the ice and putting a fishing line into the holes. Now they were pulling out fish and dropping them onto the ice and putting the line back again in the hole. There must be a lot of fish there as they have caught quite a few, thought Ruby!
"Must get hopping," said Ruby."My feet are getting cold standing in one place." She saw a large sailing boat near the bank but it wasn't sailing anywhere as it was stuck in the ice.
It was getting late and the now the snow was falling again in fluffy white balls. Ruby sees a big furry Husky dog giving sled rides to the children in the park and she stops to look. He was such a handsome fellow and the children loved him but he was getting tired and decided to have a nap also.
Next day Ruby meets some more creatures in the big Square near the Palace. They also were giving rides.
"I don't know about you" said one of the horses, "but my hoofs are almost frozen to the ground."
"Well at least my ears are warm."
"Well I have a coat on and I can keep warm trotting around pulling this cart."
Nearby there was a lady rugged up in her winter clothes selling hot corn on the cob. She didn't seem to be selling much but didn't mind as she was busy reading her interesting book.
Next Ruby sees lots of interesting lights and the children and playing on the ice around the arches of light in the park. It looked like a lot of fun.
Suddenly there was loud music playing and lights were shining on all the big buildings around the Square. It was so beautiful. There were so many colours. That was such a busy day thought Ruby but I must hop off to bed now and tomorrow I may meet some more interesting friends.
"Goodnight!" Hop hop hop!
